Painted en plein air at Aysgarth Falls in North Yorkshire, a place I used to visit as a child. Painted in August 2020, the river was high, the water was forceful and coloured with gold, brown and ochre hues because of the peat from the hills. I'm always in a place of great peace when I'm painting by the sound of running water, even the roar of a waterfall.
